Front End Developer

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

 

We are looking for a motivated, organised and driven Front End Developer who will enjoy the benefits of working for a hip and creative media company based in Camden.

We are a highly skilled and tight-knit team that enjoys working together to achieve our goals. This position is for a Front End Developer who will become a key part of our Tech team and become responsible for building, expanding and further improving a big portfolio of websites. 

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brainstorm new ideas to improve certain elements of each site and further implement your own and other team member’s ideas utilising HTML, PHP, JavaScript and CSS
  • Build new sites by working with Design, Content and Markup teams to create specific elements
  • Update sections of each sites content using HTML, PHP and CSS.
  • Recognise opportunities for improvement of current websites reviewing SEO, Content, Coding and other aspects.
  • Work closely with designers, coders and writers to update websites and help organise the creation of new websites

  • Willing to give and accept positive criticism and be willing to try new ideas, learn new skills and experiment with different ways of accomplishing tasks.
  • Able to take on a task and see it through to completion without immediate input.
  • Confident in efficiently managing your time.
  • Capable of working on numerous projects at any one time.

 

Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Basic knowledge of PHP and its built in functions
  • WordPress knowledge is a bonus
  • Have an understanding of Databases (MySQL)
  • Experienced with FTP servers
  • Knowledge of GIT and have previous experience using it
  • Understand UI and UX fundamentals
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (Especially Photoshop)
